Sport, Smiles and Community at the “Romania Padel Tour Constanța” Padel Tournament

This weekend (June 27 – 29, 2025), the padel courts in Mamaia are animated by energy, good cheer and lots of movement, on the occasion of a special tournament dedicated to amateurs and families. “Romania Padel Tour Constanța” brings together athletes of all ages, from padel enthusiasts to children taking their first shots with a racket.

Padel Club Constanța is the first club to ever organize national and international tournaments on the Black Sea coast and we are very happy that it has accepted this year to be part of the national circuit Romania Padel Tour. We have 92 participants – an absolute success for this club and for the tournaments in this area of the country. We are very happy that players from many counties of the country have responded to the call, including players with very good performances at the national level. We have 5 performance divisions, male, mixed, a division for beginners where families also participate, we even have people from Iași, mother with father with child. We are very happy that many parents have understood the message of the sport and bring their children to sports and exercise and even bring them to the competition” says Mihai Burciu, president of Prut Padel.

The main goal of the competition is not It’s not necessarily about winning the trophy, but about promoting sports, outdoor exercise and time spent together. Over 30 teams made up of parents, children, friends or colleagues competed in a relaxed atmosphere, where the spirit of fair play and fun were paramount.

“There are many families here, for example on the court behind me you see a child with his father, who have signed up for the tournament. There is a family spirit and that is exactly our message: come with your family, come with beginners, because this competition is (also) fun. This is the third tournament we are organizing in the Romania Padel Tour circuit and I can say that the level has risen a lot compared to the first tournament. The people of Constanta are starting to play padel well: people enjoy it, they come here and watch those who play, then they gather courage and become beginners themselves. This is also our message to the public: everyone can play and everyone can sign up for the tournament.” says Simone Cecchini, owner of the Padel Club in Mamaia.

In fact, padel is an accessible and friendly sport, and such events contribute to the development of an active and united community. Padel Club Constanța is not only about padel, but also tennis, and the opportunity to spend a pleasant and relaxing time on the shore of Lake Siutghiol. In addition to the matches, the organizers have also prepared a terrace where practitioners and companions can stop for a juice or an aperitif, a relaxation area with sun loungers right on the lake shore from where you can admire the sunset, as well as two massage tables for those who wish. The padel tournament taking place this weekend is supported by Bucovina mineral water, the American pet food manufacturer “Taste of the Wild” and the “Hang off” energy drinks and promises to become a local tradition.

“We are delighted to be with our partner Padel Club Constanța. Apa Bucovina from the land of balance is part of these tournaments. We have been with the club for two years and we are delighted because it is a new sport in Romania and we are happy to be part of this project,” says Ionuţ Căţoi, representative of Apa Bucovina, one of the tournament sponsors.

“We are happy to be with this sports complex that promotes movement and a healthy lifestyle. Taste of the Wild is a premium food that is aimed at dogs and cats, having a lot in common with sports. As a product, it uses only natural ingredients, being a product from the USA,” says Nicolae Boboc, representative of Taste of the Wild, one of the tournament sponsors.

The tournament final is played on Sunday and will offer a show full of energy and fair play, which will be applauded for a long time by the spectators. Simone Cecchini wants to prove that paddle tennis can be more than a sport – it can be a bridge between generations.
